The Big Idea

Folly by definition is a foolish action or idea, the word absurdity and phrase "lack of sense" seem to continually arise. But what would life be like without these follies? Why not embrace these ideas and get a little nutty! This is my journal for those adventures, and along the way I hope to meet new people, take the path less traveled, have some fun, and spread the story of this sustainable journey we call life! Here you’ll find short anecdotes about my life, links to enlightenment, and opinions on how to have fun! I would love to hear about your folly, so feel free to e-mail me, I might just post them, and thanks for visiting!

Day 19 June 12th

Day 19 June 12th

Stats: 30 Miles, 3:15 hours, 9.8 MPH Average, 38 MPH Top Speed, 80’s and sunny!

Today all we had to do was ride a short 30 miles into San Francisco. So we woke up had breakfast with our friends Jessie and Arden, and headed into the hectic maze of bike paths that led us into the city.

We got to ride through the cool little towns of Fairfax, Larkspur, Marin, and Sausalito which were a nice transition from the small coastal towns we have been riding through until today. As we kept pedaling we made our way to the Golden Gate Bridge, and had amazing views from the look out point since there was not a cloud in the sky.

We crossed, which was a bit crazy, having to pick our way through the thousands of people who were out on the bridge enjoying what we found out was a rare break in the normally cloudy weather.

After walking our bikes up some of the steepest hills on earth, through San Francisco, we made it to Molly’s sisters and brother-in-laws house. We unpacked, cleaned up, ate great Mexican food, and spent the rest of the day walking around the city and hanging out with Jenny and Brandon. We made it, over 1100 miles so far!!
