The Big Idea

Folly by definition is a foolish action or idea, the word absurdity and phrase "lack of sense" seem to continually arise. But what would life be like without these follies? Why not embrace these ideas and get a little nutty! This is my journal for those adventures, and along the way I hope to meet new people, take the path less traveled, have some fun, and spread the story of this sustainable journey we call life! Here you’ll find short anecdotes about my life, links to enlightenment, and opinions on how to have fun! I would love to hear about your folly, so feel free to e-mail me, I might just post them, and thanks for visiting!

Day 10 June 3rd

Day 10 June 3rd

Stats: 64.42 Miles, 6:04 Hours, 10.5 MPH Average, 30.3 MPH Top Speed, 40’s and raining all day!!

The morning started off great! We had a great breakfast at our perfect little bed and breakfast, Molly soaked one more time in our private hot tub, and the weather looked like it had improved.

We even got to see the coast gaurd coming back into port in the morning.

As soon as we got on our bikes though things got hard, we rode almost 65 miles and Oregon threw one hell of a storm at us. Not only was it raining all day, but the wind was howling, and the air was cold.

We trudged on though in hope of sunnier pastures as we inched southward. Of course by 7 p.m. we were still wet! We decided to take refuge again in a hotel along the way, which raised our spirits. We figure were doing this trip to enjoy ourselves, and after 65 miles of pouring rain, camping is the last thing we really wanted to do. So the day was long and hard, but we saw a ton of sea lions, a few whales spouting, got to do laundry, and slept in a nice warm cozy bed. Hopefully tomorrow we’ll see the sun!
