The Big Idea

Folly by definition is a foolish action or idea, the word absurdity and phrase "lack of sense" seem to continually arise. But what would life be like without these follies? Why not embrace these ideas and get a little nutty! This is my journal for those adventures, and along the way I hope to meet new people, take the path less traveled, have some fun, and spread the story of this sustainable journey we call life! Here you’ll find short anecdotes about my life, links to enlightenment, and opinions on how to have fun! I would love to hear about your folly, so feel free to e-mail me, I might just post them, and thanks for visiting!

Day 14 June 7th

Day 14 June 7th

Stats: 54.5 Miles, 5:45 Hours, 9.4 MPH Average, 39.6 MPH Top Speed, Low 70’s and sunny!!

We rode through the Redwoods this morning, which had huge hills and fast descents. We were a bit beat up from the long day yesterday, but needed to trudge on to keep on schedule.

Anyway, after a few miles we stopped for lunch, man we were feeling it! I was scared of the elevation profiles for the rest of the day, and Molly's neck couldn't turn too far to the left!

The rest of the day consisted of a 1500 foot tall mountain, and a long afternoon to reach our camp. Riding 55 miles after the longest day of the trip was a mistake, but we made it to Patrick’s Point, our campground, which were perched on some cliffs overlooking the ocean.

It was amazing, we were able to sit there and watch the waves crash into the rocks as the sun was setting over the horizon. With another sunny day in the books we ate dinner and quickly headed to bed, tired and sun burnt, but at least we were not wet!
