The Big Idea

Folly by definition is a foolish action or idea, the word absurdity and phrase "lack of sense" seem to continually arise. But what would life be like without these follies? Why not embrace these ideas and get a little nutty! This is my journal for those adventures, and along the way I hope to meet new people, take the path less traveled, have some fun, and spread the story of this sustainable journey we call life! Here you’ll find short anecdotes about my life, links to enlightenment, and opinions on how to have fun! I would love to hear about your folly, so feel free to e-mail me, I might just post them, and thanks for visiting!

Summer's a rolling!

Well Summer has been hectic, I've not found much time to blog about life, but none-the-less life has bee pretty exciting. I am working on the river again this summer as a rafting guide and have been working like a dog, day in and day out, two trips a day every day. Rarely have I gotten a day off, so other than work there has not been much free time, and after a long day on the river all I seem to want to do is sleep. I guess I am not the 21 year old young pup I used to be last time I worked on the river, partying all night, rafting all day, nary a second to stop and rest or refuel the tanks.

But we have managed a bit of extra curricular fun, even with full schedules, and here is the highlight reel!

I graduated from grad school!!!

We put together two teams for the 24 hours of Laramie Ultra Race and took 1st and 2nd, and even set a new course record of 24 laps!!

I got back on the iron horse which I thought was part of my past and found out I still love riding motos! What a way to travel around, at 70 miles a gallon, maybe it's time to head south 3 or 4 thousand miles.....

One of my best friends from times past moved to town for the summer and I got to spend a glorious month with her. Thank you Jamee for becoming my friend in 1st grade and continuing that friendship to this day!

I rafted some more, and tired myself out to the max, but had enough energy to try to help a young bike tourist on his journey, through struggle and stress. Hopefully Jake and his lady friend pushed through their hardships and found the peace and love that bike touring is! Check him out at: Nuts, Bolts and a bike names Shurly!

Pure Pursuit finally got off the ground, making it's debut at the Larimer County Farmer's Market, where we killed it and people were going crazy for our bars!! Time to go full stride!!! For more on that check out Pure Pursuit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And as summer comes to an end here in mid-August, I have begun, or really resumed my search for the illusion of happiness on top of some of Colorado's tallest mountains! Climbing season is just starting and once the river fades into memories and my days of pushing rubber and Texans down stream comes to and end, I'll retreat to the solace of the high peaks!

Oh and of course we found a little time to have a few drinks and listen to some tunes along the way!

So thank you to all my amazing friends that make this place the place we all don't want to leave! Summer in Fort Collins really is something else!!!!
