The Big Idea

Folly by definition is a foolish action or idea, the word absurdity and phrase "lack of sense" seem to continually arise. But what would life be like without these follies? Why not embrace these ideas and get a little nutty! This is my journal for those adventures, and along the way I hope to meet new people, take the path less traveled, have some fun, and spread the story of this sustainable journey we call life! Here you’ll find short anecdotes about my life, links to enlightenment, and opinions on how to have fun! I would love to hear about your folly, so feel free to e-mail me, I might just post them, and thanks for visiting!

Things will get exciting soon!!

So for those of you who are new or those that keep coming back to this site and are wondering if anything interesting will ever be posted, I want you all to know that it's coming. This is new and I have not had much time to play yet, but once the semester is over and I head out on the road things will get rich. I will have jokes, little diddys, short stories and probably some mini novellas too. Travel tips will be abundant, and not only for bikers, but anyone wanting to get out there, whether that be just around the corner or to the corners of the world. There will be great pictures, and maps, movies and recipes from the road, you will find yourself immersed in my trip and my life, and feel compelled to tell me about yours, at least I hope so! And again, please feel free to leave comments for me, long and short, I'll post the interesting ones and talk about the rest. More than anything this is a way for me to connect with all you out there, and to take you along on my folly!! So stay tuned, the stew is almost ready!!!

Warm Showers

This is a great site for cyclists out on tour that may want to meet new people and spend a night off the road. Have a look, I hope to take full advantage of the people we may meet through this great site.

The Tread Is In!

The great guys at Thrillhead Creations got Chaco USA to hook up a few pairs of sandals and shoes for the trip which is great! My last pair of Chacos are still going pretty strong and I got them about a decade ago, and they are the perfect touring shoe, no hot spots, you can ride rain or shine and not have to worry about soggy shoes, and at the end of the day you can dive right into the drink to cool off without wasting time to take them off. Plus I hate clipless pedals, so platforms and a good pair of sandals is what it is all about.

Check out Chacos site, just click on the title to this posting!!

Some New Interest

There has been a bit more interest in my ride by two interesting outfits.

First is Thrillhead Creations which is a "grassroots production company started by two Colorado State University graduates committed to creating films, promotional videos, and broadcast programming in a fresh and innovative manner that supports a sustainable network of businesses and promotes environmental stewardship."

The other is a company called Spire USA which is a "small company that was founded in Boulder, Colorado with one goal in mind: to design and manufacture the finest laptop backpacks and bags on the planet. Our passion is to make bags that are durable, comfortable, versatile and functional. Our HQ is now on the East Coast, but the love of an active lifestyle is still very much with us."

Have a look at their websites, both of these companies are doing great things, and there may be an opportunity to work with them throughout the ride. Here are the links below, enjoy!!!
