The Big Idea

Folly by definition is a foolish action or idea, the word absurdity and phrase "lack of sense" seem to continually arise. But what would life be like without these follies? Why not embrace these ideas and get a little nutty! This is my journal for those adventures, and along the way I hope to meet new people, take the path less traveled, have some fun, and spread the story of this sustainable journey we call life! Here you’ll find short anecdotes about my life, links to enlightenment, and opinions on how to have fun! I would love to hear about your folly, so feel free to e-mail me, I might just post them, and thanks for visiting!

Day 11 June 4th

Day 11 June 4th

Stats: 58.42 Miles, 5:15 Hours, 11.0 MPH Average, 33.6 MPH Top Speed, Sunny and 75!!!

Finally some sun!! We woke up in our little hotel room to a few patches of blue sky and were excited that the rain had finally stopped. So off we went, and within a few miles the clouds had blown away and blue skies laid ahead.

We walked across a big bridge that was illegal to ride over, which took forever, but heard later that two other bikers were getting tickets for trying to ride across, so walking was the right decision.

Molly found another dollar tree, so we stocked up on candy, and we ended the day at Sunset Bay State Park which had a nice little beach. At the camp site we met some other bikers, Dean and Laurie Twehues from Ohio, who were retired and on their second summer of touring by bike. They were great to talk to, and we learned a few tricks from the seasoned vets. Check out their site at www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/twehues2008.

Not much else happened today, we were just happy to have a break from the lousy weather!
